Safe Play/behavior standards

This tournament will be run in accordance with US Chess Safe Play standards. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and should be reported to the tournament director. The IAOK / Edmond Chess Club reserves the right to remove anyone from the premises who is causing excessive disruption to the tournament, is acting in an unsafe or disorderly manner, or who leaves a child unattended. If removal of a parent or child is required which would also leave an unaccompanied child in the tournament, then the child will also be removed from the event.

About the venue

The MAC at Mitch Park is located in a wonderful, eco-friendly city nature park. It is the responsibility of all players and spectators to keep the place clean. Please dispose of all food containers, water bottles, and other trash.

Ties

Cash prizes are not affected by tiebreaks. If two or more players tie for a monetary prize, the prize will be split among them.

If there is a tie for first place in any section, a two-game, unrated G/5 blitz match will be held to determine the trophy winner. If a tie persists, a G/5 armageddon game will be used to determine the winner.

Standard US Chess tiebreaks will be used (1) to determine the top two players to enter the playoff match (when three or more players are tied for first); (2) to determine the trophy winner in the case of ties for second or third place.

Refunds: A player can receive a refund -$5 if they cancel up to one hour before the tournament start time. Players who no-show do not receive a refund.

No shows = not cool.

Running late? No worries. If you're running late, just send a text to (405) 642-6136 before 9:30 and let us know you're coming.

Prize eligibility: Players who withdraw before the last round are ineligible for prizes (per US Chess rule 32c1).

Free entries Players rated 2000+ must register by July 10 to receive free entry. $30 will be deducted from prize money won by players whose entry fee was waived.

Equipment: A limited number of sets and clocks will be provided. If you have your own equipment, please bring it.

Accessibility: If you require special accommodations due to a disability, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to ensure you have a great tournament experience.
