Rules
Our tournaments are run in accordance with the Rules of Chess, 7th Edition by Tim Just for US Chess. It is the player’s responsibility to know the rules that govern tournament play. US Chess has made available for free download the chapters that are most useful to players. Download your copy here.

Safe play
Oklahoma City Chess Club tournaments are run in accordance with US Chess Safe Play policies. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and should be reported to the tournament director.

Refunds
A player can receive a refund if they cancel up to one hour before the tournament start time. Players who no-show do not receive a refund.
Players who no-show may be prohibited from registering in advance for future tournaments. To avoid pairing players with no-shows, it’s very important that we know who's coming and who isn't. If something comes up and you can’t make it for a tournament you’ve registered for, tell us. Just send a text to (405) 642-6136.

Running late?
No worries. If you're registering onsite, or if the tournament has a check-in requirement, just send a text to (405) 642-6136 before the cutoff time and we'll put you in.
Players who register after the posted cutoff time will be given a first-round bye in Swiss tournaments. For tournaments that require players to check in, those who are not checked in by the cutoff time will be given a half-point bye for round one. For quads, players who arrive after the registration cutoff/check-in time may not be able to participate in the event.

US Chess membership
A current US Chess membership is required for all rated tournaments.

This offer is for Oklahoma City Chess Club events only. It does not apply to events we host for other organizations or for Oklahoma Chess Association tournaments.
