Oklahoma City Chess Club Terms & Conditions
Safe play
Oklahoma City Chess Club tournaments are run in accordance with US Chess Safe Play policies. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and should be reported to the tournament director.

Refunds
A player can receive a refund -$5 if they cancel up to one hour before the tournament start time. Players who no-show do not receive a refund.

No shows = not cool
For tournaments that don't require players to check in, it's still very important that we know who's coming and who isn't. A no-show means somebody gets paired with an opponent who's not coming. If something comes up, just send us a text so we'll know not to pair you. Players who no-show may be prohibited from registering in advance for future tournaments.

Running late?
No worries. Just send a text to (405) 642-6136 before the cutoff time and we'll put you in.
Otherwise, players who register after the posted cutoff time will be given a first-round bye in Swiss tournaments. For tournaments that require players to check in, those who are not checked in by the cutoff time will be given a half-point bye for round one. For quads, players who arrive after the registration cutoff/check-in time may not be able to participate in the event.

Equipment
Sets, clocks, scoresheets, and pencils are provided at all Oklahoma City Chess Club tournaments. For events held in the café, bring your own equipment if you can.

Playing up
Unless otherwise noted in the TLA, a player within 150 points of the next rating threshold may play up to that section for a $10 fee.

US Chess membership
A current US Chess membership is required for all rated tournaments. New US Chess members may purchase their membership through us and pay no entry fee for their first tournament if they do so by that tournament's early entry deadline.

About the venue
The chess club is located above Kamp's 1910 Café. Except on Sundays, when the café is closed, do not bring any outside food or drink into the building. Try something from their delicious menu instead.
